Appetizers for Summertime Outdoor Wedding/Reception

I am planning a summertime outdoor wedding/reception and want to do heavy appetizers.

How many do I need if this is the only food served.

Answer:

If you are not having a dinner, and simply plan on a wedding finger food reception, then you should plan on serving about 12 to 15 hors d'oeuvres/appertizers per person. (depending on the size of each)

By the way, there are two ways to serve your hors d'oeuvres/appetizers at a wedding reception; you can either choose to have them passed by tray carrying waiters or you can have trays set up on tables as a sort of hors d'oeuvre stations.
