Bustle Wedding Dress

Bustle Wedding Dress is necessary to take that beautiful, dramatic and long train so that it will be practical at your reception.



Many brides enjoy this drama and look at the wedding ceremony or for photographs, but, come the wedding reception when you are trying to make your way around the room to visit with guests, etc.

The answer to the problem: use a bustle.A bustle not only allows the bride to be able to move freely about the reception, but it also personalizes the look of her gown.

Interestingly enough, there are actually many types of bustles.

Types of Bustle Wedding Dress:

  • Over Bustle - created by gathering the train and attaching it to various places "over" the skirt fabric. The multiple folds or pick-ups create an elegant look for very full ball gown skirts or cathedral length trains.


  • Under Bustle (or French Bustle) - created by gathering the train and attaching it "under" the skirt often creating a single or double fold down the back of the skirt. This unique bridal, look with hidden buttons, is an excellent choice for A-line, or less full ball gowns.


  • Royal Bustle - creates a distinctive look reminiscent of a Victorian gown. The train is gathered and fastened elegantly down the back of the dress until the hem is the same distance from the floor all the way around. This romantic bustle is recommended for for very full gowns or cathedral length trains.


  • Ballroom Bustle - created by fastening the train at hidden attachment points until the hem is the same distance from the floor all the way around and appears to have no train. This look is ideal for brides who want to maintain a sleek and smooth silhouette.


  • Bow Bustle - created by attaching the train to points along the dress seam and topping it with a matching or coordinating ribbon or sash. It is a beautiful and unique way to add a splash of color to a gown.
