For $125.00 per plate, what can I expect to get food wise? What would it include?

The answer to your question is a little complicated because it can be highly influenced by the location of the reception venue as well as what time of time day your reception is going to be (as well as what time of the year).

For instance, $125/plate does not buy as much in New York City as it would in small town USA.

Also you would have a pretty extravagant $125/plate brunch as compared to $125/plate dinner.

Also, I'm not sure if the price you quoted also includes the hall rental location or is just the catering cost.

Some venues bundle these together and you pay a per plate charge that includes everything.

It's also going to make a difference if you choose to serve buffet style, or sit down dinner and the type of food you choose to serve is really going to make a difference as well.

$125/plate is a pretty generous amount! I don't think that your guests will be disappointed.
