A Christmas Wedding Cake is the perfect match for your Christmas or Winter themed wedding.
If you've planned a Christmas or even a winter themed wedding, then it might be a great idea to have your wedding cake match your theme. One of the first things that you have to think about for your wedding cake is what shape just like and just how much wedding cake you are going to need to serve to your guests. Wedding cake shapes could be tiered, round, square, slab, topsy turvy and a mix of everything. To help you with how much you are going to need, be sure to supply your baker with the number of guests attending so that they can recommend to you the size/number of tiers needed. Then you will have to decide on what style you want your cake to be such as elegant, casual, traditional or whimsical. You might even decide to go with a more elegant and traditional wedding cake for your main cake and then order a cute cake to serve as a groom's cake. When I think of a Christmas Wedding Cake, I picture cakes with the colors of white, icy blue, silver, red, green and gold. Ribbons and bows, gifts, snow, poinsettias, pinecones, pine boughs, frosted/sugared fruits, Christmas decorations, poinsettias, Christmas lights, and anything else you can think of that reminds you of the season. If you are having your cake made by a professional baker, or even just a talented, crafty friend, just pass on some of these suggestions on to him/her and how far you want to take it! Or spend a few minutes taking a look at some of the great examples of Christmas wedding cake on this page and also at Christmas Wedding Cakes and Snowflake Wedding Cake. Choose either to go all out or toned down, it's going to be up to you! Here are some of the cakes I found on a great site called Cake Central.
