Fun Destination Wedding Activities

Destination Wedding Activities are still possible even though you might have a smaller guest list.

Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular as they can actually provide a cost savings to the couple in many ways.

Just remember that you will be bringing your whole guest list on your honeymoon as well. If you are okay with that, then there are quite a number of possibilities available to you to entertain your guests.

First of all, take advantage of what the vacation resort you are staying at can provide to you. Quite a few of them have a number of activities such as cooking classes, dance classes, scuba diving courses, fishing trips, etc.

If they don't offer it themselves, you can bet that the concierge has information about the local offerings available.

Traditional Activities

Ask the hotel staff, or research ahead of time, as to what kinds of traditions are prominent in the locale where you are having your wedding.

This could cover anything from traditional dances, to traditional food, flowers and decorations. For more traditions regarding the ceremony, especially if in Hawaii, please go to Hawaiian Bridal Bouquet.

Get Advice from a Sea Shell

This destination wedding activity is sometimes played in tropical locations. All you need is a large conch shell and, of course, your guests. Since most destination weddings are on the smaller side, this won't take too long.

The shell is passed from guest to guest with each guest "listening" to the shell and expanding on some valuable advice or thoughtful words to pass on to the newly married couple.

Be sure to either video tape or write these down in a keepsake book to remember them later.

Tours and Excursions

As I mentioned earlier, one of the things I love to do when visiting a new tropical location is to explore.

You might have some of your wedding guests who would rather stay at the resort or on the beach doing nothing all day, but there should also be quite a few who would like to be more active.

The concierge at the hotel aught to be able to point you in the right direction to where good shopping spots might be and where some of the local "tourist traps" to avoid are as well.

While it may be enjoyable participating in these fun destination wedding activities, you should pay close attention to any warnings and advice the concierge and resort staff should give you.

These might include safety tips, tips on where to eat out and what to avoid, tips on money and what to pay for items that catch your eye when shopping (many islands and resort town residents expect haggling over prices).

It is important to pick destination wedding activities that all your guests could have fun participating in.

It is also important that the marrying couple (or their families) pick up the tab for the costs of these.

If you are looking for different excursions and tours available in the area of where you destination wedding will be, check out www.isango.com.

They provide a listing of everything available to do and usually have some savings discounts to boot so you can pre-plan your activities and save.

There are a lot of different games you can play at your wedding reception. You can find some games to play at Printable Games AtoZ. They have great games you can immediately print for use. Check them out!
