A Dress For A Summer Wedding

Discussing what makes a perfect Dress for a Summer Wedding is important since a majority of weddings do take place in the summer months of June, July and August.

The good news is that because summer is the most popular time of the year to get married, you have a great selection and choice among wedding dresses.

It is relatively harder to find a dress more suitable for the colder months than for a dress for a summer wedding.

There are actually three things, I feel, that go into determining if a dress is appropriate for a summer wedding. They are the fabric, style and length.

Fabric

Most of the time, summer weddings are going to deal with hot, perhaps humid, weather, so you are better off opting for lighter fabric choices such as chiffon, light satin or crepe.

Speaking of fabrics, don't forget that Lace Wedding Dresses can also be a fabulous choice for a lighter fabric.

Style

When speaking of the style of the dress, I am mostly going to mention about the upper/bodice portion of the dress.

What you definitely don't want for a dress for a summer wedding is long sleeves (unless you are going for a themed dress like the Medieval Wedding Dress or any other Uniquely Designed Wedding Dresses.

Instead, stick with sleeveless styles such as halter, sweetheart, and strapless. Straps are fine, but what you want to avoid is something that goes right up to your neck like a turtleneck.

Now that being said, if your collarbones are not you finest feature (mine aren't), you might want to choose a dress that has lace in that area as a way of hiding your not-so-finest feature.

Length

I believe that the length (and fit) of the dress also makes it a perfect dress for a summer wedding. A summer wedding dress should either be long but flowing, not tightly fitted. Believe me when it is a sweltering day in July, you will enjoy a little airflow between your legs!

There are a lot of other styles for wedding dresses nowadays beside the traditional long skirt. You can now find cocktail length wedding dress, mid-calf length and even babydoll length wedding dresses, so you definitely can be comfortable on your special day.

Here are some great examples of Summer Wedding Dresses that I found:
