The Fondant Wedding CakeA Fondant Wedding Cake can be a very elegant and beautiful choice for your special day. "Fondant" actually refers to a type of Wedding Cake Frosting used on the wedding cake.If you are looking for a super smooth finish on your wedding cake, then you are probably looking for a fondant wedding cake. Fondant is the icing covering that is actually rolled out to a specific thickness and then draped over a cake that has been pre-iced with buttercream icing. Just take a look at the following video to see how it is made... Make sure that if you have fallen in love with the look of fondant, that you have also fallen in love with the taste. Some people do not like the taste of fondant icing and so I would highly recommend a taste test with your chosen baker's fondant to make sure it is really something that you want to serve to your wedding guests at your reception. If it is still a "go" after the taste test, then you will have to work with your baker to decide the size of the cake to serve depending on the number of wedding guests you are inviting. You can choose to have a fondant wedding cake in a variety of shapes and sizes such as round, square, heart-shaped, tiered, etc. Here are some of the cakes I found on a great site called Cake Central.
