Food for a Wedding

by Haley Bowshier
(Ohio)

We have a $5000 budget for 100 people and for catering/food is $950.

What kind of food could we serve?

Answer by Diane:

Normally you would budget about 40-50% of your total budget for the reception. Yes, it takes a large chunk of your wedding budget!

But if you would like to only budget $950 to feed 100 guests, you are looking to spend only $9.50 per person.

That amount would be hard to do for a sit down dinner. I would suggest a morning wedding with a breakfast or light brunch following.

You could also save by serving appetizers and a very limited bar.

Best wishes to you always,

Diane
