Free Wedding Shower Games will bring fun and enjoyment to your wedding shower. Not only will they bring entertainment to your gathering, but, very much like Wedding Reception Games, they also will serve as ice breakers and allow sides of the families to get to know the other.
Be careful as to which free wedding shower games you choose to play at your wedding/bridal shower.
You don't want to get it too personal that you would embarass your guests or make them feel uncomfortable. Fun is the object of the game here!
Here are a few of the free wedding shower games you can play:
Make a Dress
Divide your guests into small groups of about 4 to 6 people. Give each group a few rolls of toilet paper and paper towels along with tape (white duct tape is wonderful).
Choose one person from each group to be the model "bride". Each group has a certain amount of time to design and create the best dress out of the materials provided.
A strut down the "catwalk" is a must, with the bride choosing the winner. Small prizes may be awarded to the winner.
Bridal Bingo
There are a couple of ways to play this game. Each one starts with you making “Bingo Cards” with 25 empty spaces. You can make the middle space "free" or not like the real Bingo game...it's up to you.
In one instance, each guest should write in the gifts that they think the bride-to-be will receive in each of the blanks on their bingo cards.
As the bride opens the presents she received, any matches should be marked on the card. Decide what the winner needs whether it be one line, two lines, square, full card, etc., then that guest wins a prize.
Another way to play is to fill in the blanks with events your guests might have experienced such as wore her Mother's wedding gown or attended wedding where bridesmaid wore green.
Your guests will have to mingle to try to find someone who fits a description and can initial the square - for five in a row, up, down, or diagonal.
Still another way to play this free wedding shower game is to prefill all the cards with words connected to a wedding such as bouquet, ceremony, bride, etc., then hand out the cards to your guests and read out from the calling cards. You determine what makes a bingo that gets a prize.
Clothes Pin Game
As they arrive, each guest receives a clothes pin and are told that if they catch another guest saying the word ‘bride or wedding’ or something else you choose, then they can take the other's clothes pin. At the end of the shower the guest with the most clothes pins wins a gift.
The Newlywed Game
You can make this one a naughty or nice free wedding shower game. Put the Bride and Groom in the hot seat as you fire questions to find out if they REALLY know the person they are about to marry!
Prior to the party, have someone ask the groom a series of questions, such as where he was born, what his favorite food is or what's his favorite sport's team.
If you want to go naughty, then as if he prefers boxers, briefs or none? Then at the bridal shower, put the bride on the spot by asking her the answers to the questions. See how many she can get right (hopefully at least half!).
What's In Your Purse?
In this game, you get to check what's in your guests purses. Beforehand make a list of some commonly and some uncommonly found items in purses and assign them a point value. The wierder the object, the higher the point valuation.
Then have your guests go through their purses awarding points and give the person with the highest number of points a prize.
Honeymoon Blackout
What would happen if the lights went out while the Bride and Groom were on their honeymoon? Could the Bride get dressed in the dark? Blindfold the Bride and let her get dressed in the "dark". Provide her with a suitcase or bag filled with fun clothes items that she has to put on blindfolded.
And the Bride Wore...
About 30 minutes into the party, have the bride leave the room and pass out pieces of paper. Have all the guests write on the paper everything they can remember about what the bride was wearing. Think of things such as the colour of her top, jewellery, type of shoes, etc.
Once everyone has finished recording their observations, the bride can come back into the room. Answers are checked and a prize is awarded to the guest with the best observation skills.
