Comment by Diane:Hello Ann,
Thanks for writing to us today about these online wedding dress websites.
You have chosen is a very lovely dresses to look at and you're right in being cautious about buying a dress online.
I'm not very familiar about any of the sites that you mentioned so let's take a little look at them.
ShopofBrides.com - Right off the bat the one thing I had to point out to you on this site, is that they offer no returns. Once you've purchased your dress that's it.
I don't like the fact that the only way to get in contact with this online wedding dress supplier is through a contact form or live chat.
I don't like dealing with companies that try to hide where they're located.
But just from a quick glance at their website, and the poor English that is found on it, I would have to guess that it is Chinese based.
I think one of the most important things you can do when dealing with these kinds of websites is to ask questions.
From looking at the pictures that they have on their website, I would question them as to whether they are original designer dresses, or are they knockoffs.
At these prices, I would guess that they're knockoffs, and therefore you could expect lower quality workmanship and materials than what you would receive if you ordered the original designer dress.
As long as you are OK with that, you might be all right.
But let me refer you back to their return policy, as being all sales final before you decide to order from this company.
udresshop.com - Once again here you are dealing with another Chinese wedding dresses supplier.
At least this time, you have more ways to get in touch with them including a contact form, live chat, telephone number, and an actual address.
Once again just by looking at the website pictures, they probably are manufacturing knockoffs of the original designer gowns.
A quick look at their return policy...
"In essence this means that products can be returned by confirm the obvious quality defects, we will make the repairs or instant exchange and ship them back to you.
Quality problem shall refer to product blemish by distinctive holes or serious discolored and craze. The dissatisfaction of product with the imagination of different material or error color applied on the merchandise, etc shall not be regarded as quality problem. We shall offer the solution for goods exchange in the event of product dissatisfaction from the customer."So in effect, they have covered themselves with your probable "dissatisfaction" of the cheaper quality knockoff and the fact that that is not grounds for refund.
jjshouse.com - is Hong Kong based and you can contact them through email, telephone and snail mail.
Their return policy is somewhat confusing and is largely dependent on size and by how much it is off. Please take a look at it and make sure that it is something that you would take a chance on.
They also look like they are using the original designer photos and so I would also ask them prior to ordering if they are knockoffs or not.
This would be a question to ask prior to even thinking of ordering, unless you are OK with that.
