Head Table Wedding Decoration

Head Table Wedding Decoration is an especially important part of your wedding decorations.

Since this is where you will be sitting along with your new husband and wedding party members, you will surely want it to be nicely decorated for your guests viewing pleasure.

You might start panicking about the decorations for the head table, but it can be really boiled down to some really simple decorating elements that you can pick and choose from depending on the effect that you want.

Head Table Wedding Decoration - Basics

Your head table should already have the basic dressing up consisting of a tablecloth and table skirt. These are usually white, but should you wish to use some of your wedding colors in there, feel free.

Another great idea for your head table decorations is using tulle or some other fabric as a draping to add some texture or even color if you end up going with all white with table cloth and table skirt.

Head Table Wedding Decoration - Lights

There are many different ways to choose from if you wish to add lighting effects to your head table.

Candles in the form of tealights, tapers, and even decorated candelabras are some of the ways to add ambience and light to your head table.

Just make sure that it is okay with your reception venue for you to have lit candles at your reception. Some venue may not allow open flames, in which case, you might have to go with a lantern style or you can resort to the battery operated flickering candles that have become increasingly popular.

If you are not interested in using candles in your head table decorations, why not use strings of mini lights that usually hang on Christmas trees.

If you place them inside and under your table the muted light shining through your table skirt adds true dramatic flair.

Head Table Wedding Decoration - Flowers

Choosing to add flowers to your head table decorations can be as easy and laying your bouquet and your bridesmaids' bouquest down on the table in front of yourselves.

Should you not wish to damage your bouquet by laying it down, you can always have a vase filled with water waiting for you all at the reception. In this way, your flowers will get a probably much needed drink of water and enter into a mini revival period.

There are also bouquet clips available that you can ask your florist for, that will attach to the head table and then your bouquets just slip in to them.

If you want something more dramatic, think about the flowers that you chose for your wedding ceremony. Perhaps they can be transported to the reception venue by family members or friends to be enjoyed later on at the reception.

Depending on the size, either have the arrangements placed at the ends of the table or on it. What you don't want to have happen is you, your husband or any members of the wedding party being blocked by a floral arrangement.

Head Table Wedding Decoration - Backdrop

Let's face it...some reception venues are going to be perfect with a perfect background for the head table and others...well, not so much.

If you are having your wedding reception in a community center, you might have panelling or masonry bricks to try to deal with.

You have a couple of different options available to you here. The first is using layers of tulle to cover the panelling, brick or whatever else your may not want to show at your wedding.

Although tulle is a fairly sheer material, as you layer it, it becomes darker and stronger in color being able to cover that which you don't want to be seen. You can also add lovely swags with tulle for a really elegant look.

You might even want to add a Wedding Arch or Column decoration to your head table to added drama.

A truly great and fun way to add a backdrop behind your head table is with Wedding Reception Decorations Balloons.

Find a balloon artist or a party place that does these kinds of balloon backdrops and be sure to take a look at their portfolio for other weddings they may have done.
