Make Your Own Invitations

When you make your own invitations, not only will you save money, but you can also really personalize your wedding invitations.

First make sure that you have access to a great quality printer. Whether it be an ink jet or a laser printer, make sure that your jet heads and paper path is clean so that you don't get any smudges on your invitations.

A terrific source for cheap, quality laser and ink jet printers is Tiger Directicon.

If you are printing on a laser printer, you may want to use the manual paper feed instead of the default paper tray.

The manual feed will ensure that the paper will follow a straight path through the printer that helps to prevent any curling or bending that may occur when using a bottom-feeding paper tray.

Using the manual feed is important for heavier paper stocks, and ensures a professional result for all projects.

Make sure that the invitations you choose can be printed by the printer you have.

When you order your Printable Invitation Kits, make sure that you order a quantity that allows for some mishaps or mistakes. You might also need some extra just in case your primary guest invites can't make it to your wedding.

In this case, you might want to send out invitations to guests that you had on your "B" list, those that you would like to invite but couldn't due to cost, etc.

The second thing you have to do is pick out which invitation you want to send out to your guests. Here are just a few of the ones that I have found but you can certainly browse a lot more Printable Invitation Kits online.

You can also find a great supply of Blank Cards, Envelopes, Printable Save-the-Dates, Specialty Paper, Invitation Folders and Wraps, Invitation Embellishments and Envelope Seals.

If you are worried about how to actually word your invitation, then go to Wedding Invitation Wording or Wedding Reception Wording if you just want to invite certain guests to your reception only and not the ceremony.

Now you can use Microsoft Word or the templates that come with your printable wedding invitation kit. Fonts that are nice to use when you make your own invitations are "Eduardian Script" and "Kunstler Script" but there are definitely a lot of choices and should match your invitations look and feel.
