Making some changes to the color and style of the dress and adding some extra touches will turn traditional wedding dresses into modern wedding dresses.
ColorA good way to change it up from the traditional wedding dress is to still keep the traditional look but add in some color or color it all the way. So whether you add in a splash of color with a red sash or go all the way with the whole wedding dress in a color other than white or off-white.
StyleInstead of the regular A-line, Princess, Sheath, etc. shape of a wedding dress, why not go for a babydoll or cocktail length. You could also experiment with mid-calf length as well. If you are simply not known for wearing dresses and/or skirts and would simply feel uncomfortable in a wedding dress at all, what about skipping the dress all together and going for a wonderfully flowing pantsuit.
Extra TouchesThe modern dress adds in some extra touches not typically found with traditional wedding dresses such as short jackets, wraps and shawls.
