Mother of the Bride Nightmare - Dressale.com

by Miss Daisy
(AZ)

I ordered a custom made gown from Dressale.com.

They asked that I get tailored measurements for my dress.

My dress states on website that it is two-piece, strapless with detachable sleeves/straps.

I could also have a bolero jacket made to order to match the dress.

I did this for a total of $185.oo including the shipping for three pieces custom made and shipped to me.

I talked to Live Chat before I sent the measurements and money to confirm that the dress was going to be made as stated on webpage and was told yes.

My order arrived in time from Dressale.com but the detachable sleeves/straps were not with dress.

The jacket is made too small and not to the measurement given.

After some 40 emails back and forth they want me to send them more money to remake the jacket that they say on their website a 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.

The last email I received on 9/6/11 and their actual words: Hi, Thanks for your email, i'm sorry, I just got a message from the manufacturer, they said they can remake it for you if you can pay $20 to our account: paypal@maso.hk, then tell us your transaction so that we can remake it for you and send it to you in time. But if you dont agree, i'm afraid we only can refund you $20 as compensation, hope you can understand, Thanks.

They must be out of their minds if they think I am going to send them another $20 or believe I will receive $20 back to my account, their whole statement does not make sense.

This is a company you should avoid at all costs.

I wish I had seen the ripoff reports before ordering from Dressale.com.

I live in a small rural area so now I have to travel 100 miles to try and have this matched up to an unusual color and try to get something fixed before 9/27/11.

Comment by Diane:

Hello Miss Daisy,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write about your experience with Dressale.com

It's not very nice dealing with these situations and these kinds of companies certainly do not do anything to encourage online spending.

Believe me, there are some very reputable online wedding dress suppliers that are located in the USA such as TJ Formal, Tailored Wedding Dresses and Plus Size Bridal.

I do find that a lot of these kinds of companies want you to order "custom" sizes because usually their return policies state that no returns available on "custom order sizes".

I hope that you do get some satisfaction at the end of all of this and do hope that you find the perfect dress for your special day.

Best wishes to you always,

Diane
