Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Decorations

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Decorations will help you add that wow factor to your outdoor wedding ceremony location.

Planning an outdoor wedding ceremony takes some extra thought and sometimes different ideas for wedding decorations.

In some cases, your ceremony location will be in almost the same location as the reception area so whatever you use as outdoor wedding ceremony decorations for your ceremony location will be a breeze to incorporate into reception.

Just make sure that you have your Volunteer Wedding Coordinators (friends and family) to help with the movement from ceremony to reception site.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Decorations - The Ceremony Entrance

The ceremony entrance has to be addressed differently from a indoor wedding ceremony. The indoor wedding ceremony usually needs no help in showing your guests that this is the way you will be coming down the aisle; it is usually a no brainer.

With an outdoor wedding ceremony, you might be having it in a garden, park, meadow, beach, etc. which will not have a clear entrance point.

In order to help your guests, you must give this area some attention.

Some ideas to use here are Wedding Arches and Columns to signify the entrance area.

It may also be a good idea to set up a table off to the side for the Guest Book so that early arriving guests to the ceremony could sign the book prior to the reception. (some guest may only be able to make it for the ceremony so they would be missed if you only were to place your book out at the reception site).

You could also set out copies of your Ceremony Programs for your guests to pick up so that they will know who is in the wedding party and what elements are going to take place during the ceremony.

A really nice idea to give your guests, especially in hot, summer months, are Fan Programs which serves two purposes, a wedding program and a cooling fan!

Instead of using arches, you could place pots of flowers or potted trees, perhaps decorated with mini lights to signify the entranceway.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Decorations - The Aisle

If you are having a flower girl, you could have her scatter Fresh Rose Petals so that you can walk on them later on as you go down the aisle.

Do check with your outdoor ceremony site to see if this is allowed. Some will say okay, but some may veto the idea altogether.

In this case, you can check to see if an Aisle Runner is allowed. If you do use one, make sure that you choose the correct length that you will need or else it might not look as nice.

Also be sure the fabric is strong enough as you will more than likely be placing it over grass; you don't want heels to punch holes in it.

Affix your aisle runner firmly to the ground so that no one will trip and fall (including you).

Since it is highly unlikely that you will have pews for your outdoor wedding ceremony, the guest seating chairs are another way to decorate the aisleway of your ceremony reception.

Definitely check out Tulle Wedding Decorations for some great ideas on how to use this material to make beautiful bows and swags for your pews.

If you want to add an extra little zing to your pew bows, you could also incorporate Wedding Flowers as a complement to your and your bridesmaids bouquets.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Decorations - The Altar

With an outdoor wedding ceremony, you most likely will not have an altar per se, but that doesn't mean that you can't make a focal point to serve as one.

As with everything, ask first as to what is allowed and not allowed, but here are some ideas to play around with...

Either have pots of flowers or large floral tribute type arrangements to signify the ceremony area. Unity Candles or Sand Ceremony Kits are very popular and will more than likely be a symbolic part of your special day.

You can also set up an arch as a backdrop to your ceremony or even have your ceremony take place in a decorated gazebo, should there be one available.

These can be set up on a small decorated table near the ceremony area. If the area might be a bit breezy, it probably is a better idea to stick with a sand ceremony, that way you don't have to worry about flames blowing out.

If you really would like to make your own altar-type structure, you can drape a small table with white cloth and then use an Altar Cross.

These are also being used during the ceremony and then kept later on for memorial purposes. Should you wish to remember a loved one who has passed there are many Wedding Memorials available for you.

Depending on your religion and/or culture, there are many other Accessories to Incorporate into Your Wedding Ceremony
