Place Cards & Meal Choice Dilemma

by Laurinda
(Shermans Dale, PA)

We are having two entres at our reception.

When we sent out our invitations we only asked how many of each entre was desired and not who gets them.

We're supposed to indicate on the place cards which entre that person is getting but we don't know who gets what.

Any suggestions on how to handle this?

Please help,I'm at my wits end trying to figure something out.

Thanks,

Mother of the VERY SOON to be bride

Answer by Diane:

Hello Laurinda,

Thanks for your question and welcome to our community!

So you know which meals to order but you don't know exactly which meal goes to which guest...but from your invitation response cards you know which group of guests would like which meals (but again not exactly to match up with each seating card).

Besides recontacting each and every guest and confirming which meal they would enjoy at the reception, the only way I could think of to solve this would be to seat the group of guests (per each invitation response card) at one table.

That way you know at least how many meals of each type to be served at each table.

The server would just have to ask the guests who ordered which entré (this happens all the time in restaurants with large groups.)

Check with your caterer to see if this would be something that they could accomodate.

I hope I have given you an idea or way to solve your problem and many kudos to you by giving your guests a choice of meals!

Take care,

Diane
