Planning Pre Reception Activities are a great way to keep your guests amused and entertained while waiting for the reception to actually begin.

We've all been to those weddings where there is a sometimes a huge space of time in between the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception. Now, it can sure be a busy time for the newlywed couple, bridal party and parents with pictures to take, etc., but for guests it can mean boooorrring time. What to do?
MusicInstead of having everyone milling around in silence, waiting for the doors to open for the hall so everyone could sit down, why not hire a quartet or harpist to play soothing background music. You could even have your dj set up a small system where everyone is gathering to play music as well. FoodOne of the most important things you could do is to offer your guests something to eat. Serve some appetizers and finger foods to your guests, who will be starting to get very hungry at this point. Offer drinks of punch, fruits, etc. to tide guests over until the start of the actual wedding reception. A chocolate fountain is too cool! GuestbooksWhile you have everyone waiting, now is the perfect time to make sure that everyone signs your guestbook. They can actually be a great source of fun as you can see when you read the Wedding Photo Games and Activities page. There are lots of great ideas you can use to entertain your guests while they are waiting for you to arrive. EntertainmentIf you are inviting kids to your wedding and have read about Wedding Reception Games for Kids, then you can implement some of those ideas for pre reception activities as well. Hired entertainers such as magicians, clowns, balloon make people can float around the room and perform keeping all your guests amused and entertained. Tour Your VenueIf your wedding is being held at a historic building or heritage site, why not arrange for tours of the site in the time between the wedding ceremony and reception.

So, as you can see, there are many activities that you can plan to entertain your guests while they are waiting for the reception to begin.
There are a lot of different games you can play at your wedding reception. You can find some games to play at Printable Games AtoZ. They have great games you can immediately print for use. Check them out!
