Review of eweddingdressshops-BUYERS BEWARE!

by shirley
(australia)

eweddingdressshops

Don't buy anything from this company before reading this!

Right now I have no dress, no credit, no refund & not only have I lost the cost of the dress, but also the extra postage paid to return the dress.

1) I ordered & paid for my dress (Mori Lee 1074b) on-line on the 10th March 2011 - at this stage I had nothing to complain about

2) The dress was received in Australia on the 4th May 2011- how disappointing!

The dress was nothing like the shown example-firstly the colour was all wrong (I ordered Ivory and received a yellowish cream).

Also the beading was in the wrong position -should have been off to the side but finished up right in the middle of my crotch!

3) I started to worry at this point about what options I had but contacted the company on the 4th May 2011.

After a few e-mail exchanges my fears were appeased and by the 6th of May they advised me I had 3 choices,

1-"keep the dress & get $150USD" refunded within 24 hrs.
2-"second dress to be made if I pay shipping cost of $60USD"
3- 'You can return the dress to us for a full refund, you should be responsible for the returned shipping cost after receiving your returned item, our financial department will fully refund you within 3 days.'

I replied asking for specific step by steps to ensure I had a successful refund of the item.

She gave me a RMA # and stated this had to be written on the outside of the parcel.

She said 'you should have the dress posted within 7 days of receiving it and provide the tracking No. to us as soon as you post it'

4) I express posted the dress back on the 10th May 2011 following the steps on her e-mail (This was within 7 days) I paid for the shipping & registered this parcel.

I tracked its progress & confirmed that the item had arrived back in CHINA on the 12th May 2011 & was in CUSTOMS pending clearance for delivery. (This is still within 7 days).

Over the next 2 months I kept checking and it was not being picked up.

I didn't worry about it because I thought as I had posted it back within 7 days I would still be ok for a refund but I just had to wait for the company to pick it up and do the right thing.

5) After 3 months of waiting I finally wrote to the company to find out what was happening only to find out that they wouldn't be giving me a refund because it was not returned within 7 days. WHAT?!?!?!.

6) For the last month and a half I have been sending / receiving e-mails from various sales people that have gone nowhere - one tells me that the 'seller' will contact me, then another e-mail saying sorry the 'seller' states that you cannot get a refund.

Then another that states that I would get a refund within 24hrs, then another that says I won't again.

So yep I am rightfully angry - I now consider their refund policy a complete sham.

Not only do I now not have a dress, but I didn't get any credit (which I now WILL NOT accept after all these hassles), I also paid EXTRA for shipping & am being told I cannot get a refund on the original dress... I had given this company several months to do the right thing & clearly this isn't happening!

Buyers beware!

Comment by Diane:

Hello Shirley,

Thanks for writing in about your experience with this Chinese online wedding dress supplier.

I'm so sorry that you had such a bad experience, but I'm also very glad that you can take the time to expose their policies here for other brides to see.

I hope that you can get some satisfaction somehow from them. You might want to try filing a complaint with the Consumer Council which is China's version of the Better Business Bureau.

Best wishes to you always,

Diane
