I am planning a last minute wedding. My finance and I are very modern and we like bright colors and simple style, however, this venue has elements of tacky everywhere.
There are mini blinds! The outside is gorgeous and we will have our ceremony there, but we cannot have the reception there because it's hot outside in June.
Please help me figure out if it's worth it to pick this venue and try to spruce it up or take our chances and search elsewhere.

If the picture above is a picture of your venue, that's not so bad. Believe me, I've seen a lot worse!
There are many ways to incorporate your chosen wedding colours throughout your reception decorations and to hide the "tacky" of your reception venue.
Some of the things you can use are arches, columns, balloons, lights/candles/lanterns, background materials and gossamer.

They've also put together a great little video on decorating with gossamer which I think could cover the mini-blinds on the windows.
