The New Guestbook

FH and I believe Guest books are outdated. It is a personal belief and not something we would try and impress on anyone else - let me say that before going forward.

We just do not see the point of having a book with a bunch of signatures - how does THAT capture the emotion of the evening.

Our solution? We will be doing all three of the following:

Each escort card will also come with a multitude of colored sharpie *fall like colors*. Each table will have one of each color.

In the center of each table will be a porcelain plate hand decorated by Mr. Brian and myself with a little note saying: Please Sign Me!.

We are expecting approximently 20 tables... so we will have an extremely accurate depiction of who sat where on our wedding day.

We then plan to put up shelves in our living room in which to display said plates.

Also located in our reception hall will be a wishing tree. This will be for more personal messages.

Dried gathered branches will be tied together with floral tape in a vase. Small pieces of paper will be placed next to it with ribbon laced through it in our official colors: Brown, Orange, and Red.

This is where more personal notes can be written. After the honeymoon, we will have these laminated and display the tree in our home as a table centerpiece.

And for our third, we will also be using the pottery theme. This will be for our reception dinner.

When we make our plates we will be also making a matching serving platter to which we will have all of our reception dinner guests sign.

How much more fun then a dusty old guest book could we get? Oh... I am sooooooo excited.
