The Tiered Wedding Cakes

Tiered Wedding Cakes are a beautiful addition to your wedding reception and are sure to impress your guests with their elegance.

Tiered wedding cakes are very popular at weddings due to their beautiful appearance and elegance. There are many ways you can dress up your wedding cakes.

First, you should know that tiered cakes are more costly than a flat, slab cake or even cupcakes.

The reason for that is that it involves a lot more work for the baker to assemble (and I do mean assemble) a tier cake.

Usually assembling tiered cakes involves cutting dowels and using platforms to make sure that the cake layers underneath will be able to support the upper layers.

Everything has to be straight and properly centered, and of course transporting one of these cakes requires a whole lot of room and extra hands and care!

There are many way to decorate a tiered wedding cake. You can choose between using buttercream icing or you can choose Fondant Icing.

You can also choose to have your tiers stacked on top of one another or you can also choose to have them artisticly arranged on separate trays.

Decorate how you like with real flowers, stencils, scrollwork, etc.

One thing is for sure...tiered cakes are a great way to serve cake to a whole lot of people.

And, if you are planning to have a small wedding but still want a big, tiered cake look, you can ask your baker to use "dummy" cakes for most of the cake and then use real cake for a few of the smaller layers.

Here are some of the cakes I found on a great site called Cake Central.

Just click on the image and it will take you to the submission page so you can get all the details on how it was created.
