Too Many People on my Wedding Guest Lis

by Vickie
(Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada)

I have a huge family.

It's so big that huge is an understatement. I have 6 brothers and 4 sisters, they all have kids and I'm the youngest of the family.

I don't want to insult them by not inviting their kids.

Then I have aunts and uncles to invite and I really would like my friends to attend.

There is also my future in-laws to invite, of course.

Just thinking of my wedding guest list is making my life stressful.

Answer by Diane:

Hello Vickie,

Thanks for voicing your concerns over your wedding guest list.

You are definitely not alone, many couples planning their wedding have a hard time with their guest list.

You always want to make sure that you invite those people who are really important in your life to be there to see you get married and to help you celebrate your important day.

You don't mention the problem with having too many guests to invite so I'll assume that it might be one of two things.

Either it could be cost or it could be not enough room.

If it is cost, and you don't want to cut anyone off of your guest list, there are ways to cut costs off of your reception by changing your venue to a less expensive one such as community halls, recreation centers, etc.

You can also choose to serve food buffet style which is also a very large cost saver. Check out my Wedding Budget Tips page for more ways to save money on your wedding.

Now if your concern is because of size and that your venue will not hold all of your wedding guests, then you can also look for a new venue that can hold them all.

Think out of the box, you might be surprised what would be available in your area. Check out more options at Wedding Venues.

Hope it helps you out and best wishes always,

Diane
