The Wedding Cake Table

The Wedding Cake Table is where you get to showcase your wedding cake.

So, if you want to really make your cake stand out at your wedding reception, you're going to have to dress up that table.

I've divided all the supplies available to you in different categories so that you get some good ideas of what is available to you.

Wedding Cake Table Decorations

There are a lot of ways to decorate your cake table at your reception. Besides using a nice table cloth and perhaps some tulle, you can also use decorative lights, garlands, confetti, table jewelery and flowers (why not use your bridal bouquet!)

As a little aside here, I saved a lot on my wedding photographer by "staging" a cake cutting photograph and first dance photograph. That way the photographer could leave early and you didn't have to pay for the extra hours.

Cake Serving Sets

You will definitely be needing something to cut and serve your wedding cake with and since all eyes (and cameras) are going to be on you, you have to make sure that you have something suitable on hand. These should be already set up on your wedding cake table and so are important to pick the right ones.

You can either choose a serving set by a style you like or you can actually find a set that matches the theme of your wedding.

Wedding Cake Tables and Stands

You might have the prettiest cake, but it's going to need a pretty cake table or stand to really show it off. You have a lot of choices here too! Make sure that you check with your baker if she is going to "rent" you a stand or table for your cake or you might just want to purchase your own and that way you have it after your wedding for a great memory (and useful too!)

Cupcake Wrappers and Stands

Cupcakes are becoming increasingly popular at weddings and so there are a lot of different kinds of wrappers you can use for them.

As well as wrappers, you also have a few different display stands that you can use to show off your gorgeous cupcakes. These will also help you wow your guests at your wedding reception.

Cake and Cupcake Boxes

What a great idea to send your guests home with a cupcake or a slice of wedding cake either as a favor or just for their enjoyment later. Just check out these cute boxes for cupcakes!

If you want to think ahead you can actually box your cake and cupcakes and display them on your wedding cake table to easily get them into your guest's hands (and tummies).

The silver wedding cake box is a great idea if you are going the traditional route and saving the top cake for your first year wedding anniversary. By putting it in a special box, it won't get lost in the freezer or crushed!
