Wedding Invitation Wording
by Connie
I'm the bride and the groom's parents, sisters and a couple of other family members are hosting the wedding...
How can I word that in the invitation?
Would I say "The Bragg Family would like to invite you...."
Answer:
Thanks for your question! First of all, congratulations to you for joining a very generous family.
Count yourself very lucky!
In general, whoever is footing the bill deserves to lead off the invitation. So, in this case, you are right!
I think that I would advise you to talk to them and ask what kind of wording they would think would be appropriate, whether to include everyone as you said above "The Bragg Family" or if they would prefer just to list the groom's parents.
And then follow the rest of the examples found on Wedding Invitation Wording.
I probably would still include your parents on the invite...just in second place such as this...
The Bragg Family
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their son and brother
(groom's full name)
to
(bride's full name)
daughter of
(bride's parents full names)
