Wedding Shower CakesWedding Shower Cakes can be both fun and elegant to celebrate upcoming nuptials. 
There are quite a number of ways to decide how you want your shower cake to be. Whether you choose to have it as a slab cake, tiered cake or tiers on separate pedestals, elegant, casual or even something totally cute and whimsical.Some ideas to use in Wedding Shower Cakes are the future colors of the wedding incorporated with the decorations of the cake, bows, hearts, a bride and groom, a wedding dress and/or tuxedo, writing such as "I Do" or have both the bride and groom's name, the date of the wedding, etc. If you are having your cake made by a baker, just pass on some of these suggestions on to him/her and how far you want to take it! Choose either to go all out or toned down, it's going to be up to you! Here are some of the cakes I found on a great site called Cake Central. You could have a series of mini cakes for each table at your wedding shower like these little cakes. Each 6" cake is buttercream with fondant accents. Cakes were all french vanilla with buttercream & chocolate buttercream accents. 
If you like whimsical cakes but think it might be too outrageous for your wedding, then maybe have one for your bridal shower. This is a 4", 6" and 8" topsy turvy cake made in the wedding colors. The diamonds are made of white chocolate and the bands are fondant painted silver. Candy dolphin and white chocolate shells finish this chocolate cake with oreo creme filling. 
A beautiful wedding dress cake! Cakes were round and half ball pan, covered in fondant. Edible pearls up the back for buttons and along the bodice.

You could even have a wedding shower cake for the Bride and Groom when they are having their shower together. This one was iced in buttercream with fondant accents.
