Who picks the first dance, the bride or groom?

I would hope that you choose the first dance as a couple.

Go through some popular choices of songs for the first dance and choose one that you both like.

Some couples also choose to take dance lessons and choreograph the first dance. This may also be something you might be interested in doing as a newly wed couple.
