Will My Wedding Dress Clash with My Groom?

by Kim
(Canada)

Hi,

My dress is ivory.

My husband to be wants to wear dark gray with either a white shirt with purple lilac tie or lilac shirt with purple lilac tie or gray tie.

The colours of the wedding party (which is very few people) is purple and lilac.

Would I look off if he were to wear the white shirt?

Would I look dirty next to him?

My wedding dress is really ivory (like a rich cream clour)

please let me know.

kim :)

Answer by Diane:

Hello Kim,

Thanks for your question and welcome to our community!

What if your fiancé wears a cream shirt with a purple/lilac tie? I think that would look nice.

Is there a way that you can supply a swatch of the color of your dress to your groom so that he can see how his shirt would look next to your dress?

Either way, I don't think that your dress is going to look dirty.

I'm sure that you are going to look breathtakingly beautiful in your dress and nobody is going to say anything different!

Have your groom ask the advice of the salesperson who will be renting the tuxedo/suit to him for your special day.

They will undoubtedly have much more experience matching outfits for wedding parties and can give you even more advice or even other ideas to try.

Take care and best wishes always,

Diane
