Winter wedding cakes can take many forms, such as tiered, round, square, but there are certain things to include to make sure that it really reflects your winter theme. Try using icy colors such as white and pale blues or rich reds and burgundies, gold and silver, snowflakes, snowmen, winter flowers such as poinsettias, ribbons and bows, presents, snow, frosted and sugared fruits, snowmen, twinkling lights, candles, Christmas trees, Christmas decorations, nutcrackers, etc. Let your baker know which of these elements you want to use for your wedding cake and just know whether you want to go all out or simple elegance. This cake just screams "winter"! It is a 3 tiered cake covered in marshmallow fondant and real pinecones, piped with royal icing and dusted with sanding sugar to resemble snow. Chocolate pine needles and brown ribbon complete the look.
