There are some things you do have to account for when planning a winter wedding; one of those being your dress. Depending on where you live, winter weather could either be just a little bit on the cool side or it could be 30 below zero with three feet of snow. This is going to be the main factor in choosing your winter wedding dress and how much "cover up" you are going to need on your special day. But you also have to keep in mind that although you might need something warmer outside for transportation and pictures, later on during your indoor wedding reception you might be too hot with the choice you have made. What you can do is either choose a heavier dress for use during the ceremony and outdoor photography and then change into a lighter dress for the reception. This could be very expensive; purchasing two wedding dresses for your wedding day. Another option for you is to purchase a regular wedding dress either with sleeves or you could choose a sleeveless winter wedding dress and then simply add a wedding jacket as a cover up. Wear the jacket during your times outside and then easily shed it during your wedding reception. This is usually a much better option for your pocketbook and your budget as well. If your budget is really stretched, you could always raid your closet or a friend/family member's closet for a suitable sweater or perhaps a faux fur wrap.
