The correct Wording for Wedding Reception Invitations is important to use when inviting guests only to the reception after the wedding.
There are a few different reasons why you might be inviting guests only to the reception. It could be that your ceremony venue is too small to hold all of your guests, or you have planned a destination wedding and know that not all the people you would like to share your special day with, would not be able to come to the ceremony.

A good way to compensate for both of these is to plan a reception to which these guests would be invited to. In this instance, you must use proper wording for wedding reception invitations or else you might confuse your guests and they might just show up at the ceremony as well. By the way, there is one naturally great way to pair down your guest list to the ceremony...hold your wedding on a Friday. A lot of your guests won't be able to attend the wedding ceremony because usually they are planned earlier in the day when most of them would still be working. And don't forget, you can get huge discounts on your wedding reception if you book a day other than the prime time (Saturday evening). If you do only plan to invite certain guests to just the reception and not the ceremony, you should prepare yourself for some backtalk and raised eyebrows. Be sure to come up with an explanation ahead of time to answer those that are questioning your planning. The following is a good example of wording for wedding reception invitations: Miss _____________________ (bride's first and middle name)andMr. ________________________ (groom's first, middle and last name)Will be joined in marriage_________, the __ of ________ [day of the week, day and month of wedding]at ____ o'clock [time of wedding] in the _________ [time of day]___________________ [name of the location of wedding]_________, ____________ [city and state/province where wedding will take place] Please join them at a reception to celebrate their marriageHosted by ___________________ (whoever is hosting, parents, etc.)at ____ o'clock [time of wedding] in the _________ [time of day]___________________ [name of the location of wedding]_________, ____________ [city and state/province where wedding will take place] If you feel weird about asking people to the reception but not the wedding you might want to add... "The only gift the happy couple requests is the gift of your presence!" Don't be surprised if you still get gifts from people, but at least you gave them that option to opt out.
