Worried about my friend's state of mind.

Many single people have been invited to my friend's daughter's wedding. They are actually counted as 1 person.

I have a feeling many will bring a guest. They do not have room for additional people. What do we do to avoid this without being rude?

Is there a note we can include with the invitation or some other way to let them know they are sorry but they are restricted?
