www.idealweddingdresses.com and www.weddingapparel.com.au
I have purchased a dress from here.
My wedding is in 9 days and it still has not turned up even though it's been twice the amount of waiting time.
I've emailed them and all they could say is that if it does not turn up on time they will give me a refund.
What am I supposed to do now?
I either purchase a new dress for extra cost to me off the rack and then if it does turn up I'll have two dresses one of which I will have to try to end up selling to recoup the cost somehow.
From what I've heard anyway, their measurements are off, so even if it does turn up there will be no time for fittings.
And the worst bit is they don’t even care.
They just keep telling me not to worry.
Well guess what I am doing.
From doing my research this is not the first time this has happened.
Honestly girls, buy off the rack. There is plenty out there on sale if you want to save money.
By the way from the English they use I believe their reviews are all written by their company.
Comment by Diane:Hello and thanks so much for writing to us about these companies.
I am so sorry that you are going through all of this and right before your wedding as well! Like you don't have enough pressures already!
What comes to my mind right away is how did you pay for the dress? If it was through Paypal or your credit card I would definitely set a complaint in motion.
So, please do contact them if applicable and you might just get compensation that way.
I am not familiar with either of these companies so I just took a quick little look at them and this is what I could see...
www.idealweddingdresses.com - Chinese based manufacturer of wedding dresses. I did a quick check of their return policy...
All the requests for returns because of the reasons such as not like the pictures we offer, dissatisfy about the quality and not like the fabric, etc. are not accepted.
- We do not accept the request for return if your received product does not meet your requirement on the hang of the style from the original product design. I find that a lot of these Chinese wedding dress sites use the pictures from the original designers and so you buy the dress based on these beautiful pictures but what you end up getting is a cheap knock-off.
What they mention in their return policy is their way of CYA (cover you a**). So you end up basically stuck with a dress that's kind of like the picture but poorer quality.
It's always a good idea to check with an online supplier if the dresses are from the original designer or are knock-offs.
They also charge a 30% restocking fee, so even if they let you return the dress, you've lost 30% of the value of the dress plus the cost of shipping the dress back to China.
I hope that you can find a dress off the rack and try to get your money back through your credit card company or through Paypal. Don't wait for the dress company, if they keep telling you don't worry, then say back to them "Don't worry, I'm calling my credit card company to file a complaint against you!"
Please let us know how everything turns out!
Take care,
Diane
