Magic Trick

by jessica
(nova scotia canada)

We were having a New Year's Eve party.

About 30 people or so. His friend does magic tricks so I didn't find it out of the ordinary when he decided to do some tricks for the people at the party.

He asked for a volunteer and, of course, I was the first one to put up my hand. He had me pick a card from the deck, I showed it to everyone and then I passed it to my boyfriend who then wrote something on the card and placed in a metal container.

He then lit the card on fire and put the lid on the container. Then he had everyone yell out types of fruit which he worote on individual pieces of paper and put into a Sobey's bag.

Then he had someone draw one out which said "orange". He went to my fridge and took out an orange.

He cut it in half and there in the middle of the orange was a card rolled up.

He got me and my boyfriend to come stand up front to make sure it was the card that I had chosen and to see if it is what he had wrote on it.

I then got the card and read out loud "Will you marry me?".

He took the lid off of the metal container where he had burnt the card and there was a ring on a bed of rose petals.

He got down on one knee and, of course, I said YES!!!!
