Tropical Wedding Cakes are the perfect fit for your tropical destination or beach wedding. You actually have a lot of choices for a tropical wedding cake, you just have to use your imagination.
Your first choice should be to choose if you would like to have your wedding cake as a slab cake or tiered cake or something in between. You also have to choose if you want to keep it elegant or if you want to go casual/whimsical. Even if you go with elegant for your main wedding cake, you could always do something fun for your groom's cake should you choose to have one. To make tropical wedding cakes, you should use anything that is indicative of a beach theme. Some ideas to use in tropical wedding cakes are bright colours such as turquoise and hot fuscia pinks, sand, shells, flip flops, beach umbrellas and chairs, sandcastles, bathing suits, water and waves, rope, sailboats, beachballs, surfboards, pails and shovels, suntan lotion/sunscreen, palm trees, seaweed, starfish, dolphins, etc. You get the idea! If you are having your cake made by a baker just pass on some of these suggestions and how far you want her to take it. Choose either to go all out or toned down, it's going to be up to you! Here are some of the cakes I found on a great site called Cake Central. Just click on the image and it will take you to the submission page so you can get all the details on how it was created. Each will open in a new window
