Here are just a few examples of places where you might hold an outdoor wedding reception and what you could play there. Golf and Country ClubWhether you actually have your reception inside the club or out, you will be surrounded by the perfect circumstances to throw in some "games and activities" around the game of golf. How about prizes for hole in one putters, longest drive, closest to the hole, etc. Even if you aren't allowed on the actual golf course, driving range, etc. you can still include the theme of "golf". Fill a large jar with golf balls and have a contest who can guess how many are in there. Or you can lay a container with an opening on its side and see who can putt a golf ball inside. And don't forget to use these really cute ideas for wedding favors... Farm/Country SettingIf you want to cash in on the country setting, why not hire someone to teach your guests line dancing or how about trying square dancing. Line the dance floor with hay bales, and string some lights for a more down-home casual look and feel. See if you can rent a horse and carriage for you and your guests to ride in, since you are out in a farm/country setting already!
ParkParks can also be a great wedding and reception area. If you are inviting kids to the wedding, they more than likely would thrive in the outdoor setting and playground area. How about inviting everyone for a casual game of baseball or basketball. Let everyone know so that they can bring the right kind of footware and a change of clothes if needed. If the park has a pool, why not have a swim reception, especially if it is a really hot day in the summer! WineryMore and more wineries are offering reception facilities. Why not have some games involving wine tasting and who can guess the wine. Offer prizes of bottles of wine to the winners. See if the winery will let you stroll among the grapevines for some after dinner exercise.
